Machine Learning
Machine Learning Machine learning is understanding and building methods that “learn” from data to improve performance on some set of tasks. It is seen as a part of Artificial Intelligence. Automated inspections, autonomous vehicle control, conversational computer bots and visual recognition are all examples of machine learning. In this 20-hour course directed at high school students, one learns how to create and modify data, various techniques for creating decision rules from the data and how to manage “data drift.” We also consider the risk of “bias” in data as well as the wide range of career opportunities afforded through this knowledge. Graduates from this course may consider pursuing Machine Learning in college or via Kaggle certifications. Students are exposed to the Python programing language as well as statistical analysis packages.
